Volcanoes

Think about the dinosaurs. What if we haven’t had the knowledge of knowing what a volcano is? What would happen to the human race if we were to predict what will happen in the next few years? If the human race was not smart enough, the world will be in a destructive place. Volcanoes are apart of a balance of the environment. Volcanoes can come into different shapes or sizes, which can bring amazing beauty.  Volcanoes are located under water and the land. But, once their beauty dies, they will have a place for their extinction. The beautiful giant comes into various past lands masses, which look like a hill.

                                                     Birth

            Volcanoes are apart of a sleeping giant. For example, on February 5, 1943, an earthquake shocked the region.  In the next few weeks the earthquake grew in strength. On February 20, 1943 this earthquake shook in Parlcutín, Mexico. Throughout the day, the ground kept on trembling the region. While the ground kept on shaking, a man and his wife were plowing the felids. Around 4:30 p.m., the earth took a huge split with a thunderous roar. The earth made a crack across the felids. Minutes later, the cracks lead out smoke and fiery ashes that were shooting out. Sparks begin to land on a few pine trees that were about 100 feet from the hole that set them on blaze. From the hole, there was a choking odor like sulfur that filled the air. By 5:00 p.m., residents of another town far from Paricutín saw the new birth of a volcano, which could be seen for miles.  When people saw the dark smoke in the air, they began to wonder and, had to investigate to see what was going on in Paricutín. Once the men reached the cornfield, they were watching in amazement that they had seen the earth opening growing huge. Two out of four of the men, went to close and was nearly about to go in the volcano. They went so close and was nearly about to go in the volcano. They went so close, that they were about to enter into the volcanoes throat. That evening the newborn volcano was put on display that was visible for miles. That night there were tons of flames that rose into the air and lighting splash in a column of smoke. In that same night, lava from the volcano was beginning to pour out from the volcano.  The hot liquid flowed very slowly across the cornfield at a rate of 15 feet per hour.  A week after the birth of the new volcano, the volcano stood 400 feet tall, about the size of a 40 story building.

Study Equipment

Volcanoes form from tectonic plates.  When tectonic plates meets, the great stress of shifting rocks are released be the word called Earthquake. Hot Spots are laid beneath the plates.  Temperatures within the hot spots are unusually high, then the regular earth temperatures. Magma is produced when a volcano moves upwards. In Hawaiian Islands, they were thought to believe that hot spots were formed under Pacific Plates. In the 1960’s a scientist believed that our plants outer shell is composed of about 14 large and numerous rocky plates. Tectonic plates do not even stay still, in fact they can move slowly about a few inches per year. Sometimes the tectonic plates slide beneath another plate. Once the lower plate reaches a point approximately 60 to 70 miles beneath the surface of the earth, which can be as hot enough to melt a rock.  This melted rock is called Magma. There are also places where plates can also spread apart from each other, so they can open a spot on the earth crusts.  And tectonic plates can spread apart from each other. Volcanoes are formed where plates can meet. People that study Volcanoes, are scientist who watches records and can intercept volcanoes. Volcanologist will spend their years to monitor Volcanoes, and will try to predict when the next volcano will erupt. Volcanologists are to collect lava and gas sample, to measure changes in the temperature and the land forms. Hot Rod is a metal that is an ideal for collecting red hot lava flow. He or she then twists the hot rod pole around hooking up a blob of hot lava. Space out suits are a metal coating that helps to reflect the intense heat of the Volcanic eruption and help leaves the scientist to stay cool during volcano eruption. But the suit also has its inhabits to the wearer from the feeling, hearing, and seeing what is going on during the eruptions. Some metal objects can be melted of partly melted from the hot lava. For example, there was a metal spoon that was caught during a volcanic eruption, and was able to lose the tip of it bowl, which the bowl was the thinnest on the spoon. A copper telephone which was a wire (that was located in a nearby town, that wasn’t known) was not melted.  So the cloud must have been a little less than 1,981 degree Fahrenheit.

 

World’s Most Visited Volcano.

            The world’s most visited volcano was; Vesuvius.  Romans were aware of this volcano. The mountain had erupted about 800 years earlier. But the volcano had been calm since the volcano had its slopes, and had grown green and peaceful. Then in 79 A.D., it became an explosive volcano again.

 

Lava

            Born in the lava was a crystal called, Zeolite. A Zeolite was an old gas bubble that was in the lava. They grew in a great variety of shapes and colors. Charles Richer was a famous man for, following each earthquake distance from the earthquakes cracks.  After the following of an instrument, he made a theory called quakes’ magnitude. Today his scale is use all over the world. When a volcano erupts, the tremors are usually minor, of these earthquakes. The earthquake is caused of the magma that is moving below the volcano. Rising magma is from the cracks and are erupted before the ground and the eruption. Ash is full of nutrients that is enrich from soil.  The thick lava takes months to cool off.  Which is the cause of a lot of damages on the upper surfaces of a solid rock, which is slowly weathered and roots of the plants helps to breakdown the lava, to form within the soil.

 

Water

Black smokers are another name for Hot Springs. They are found along the mid-ocean ridges. The spots where the sea floors are spread are spread from the great black smokers. The water of the black smokers can split out hot acidic and black sulfides of the cooper, lead, and zinc. About 40 percent of Iceland’s electricity comes from the power stations.  As technology improves, the actives are building up the power countries, from hot-water power. In ancient Romans, the luxury of the hot running water is built in a huge public baths for all kinds of people.  Baths fed by the natural hot springs became a medical center where sick people came to the bath for their mineral and the rich water. Many of the spa’s towns still flourish, and the ill travels in the great distance to come for the water and take the water.

 

Volcanoes Includes

            Gas and lighting are formed from within volcanic gases, which the gases are an deadly poison. In August 1986, there was a very small explosion on Lake Nyos in Ćameroon, Western Africa. This was a signal for the release of an volcano cloud of the volcano gases.  The noxious fumes killed at 1,700 people living in the village of West Africa, below the lake. The main killer was a heavy cloud full of a substance, which was Carbon Dioxide. Carbon Dioxide was a dangerous substance because, it has no smell like regular gas do, plus the gas can be difficult to detect to the unlike volcanic gases. Hydrogen is another gas where it can also come from within the volcano. Hydrogen has a smell, then carbon dioxide. The smell is which smell like rotten eggs. Acid Gases, Hydrogen, and sulfur dioxide, can make your eyes and throat stings. These gases can also eat through your clothing. Leaving holes with bleached halos around the holes. Poisonous hydrogen fluoride is strong enough to cut through glass. Lighting strike in the sky are because, the lighting flashes inside the gas cloud because, static electricity are produce when tiny fragments of the lava in the ash cloud is rub against each other. This electrical charge released bolts of lightning that can leap through the inside of the cloud.  During these disasters, more than an estimated 2,000 to a million die. The same happen in Pompeii. Pompeii had over an estimated 2,000 people died when the eruption of Mount Vesuvius had destroyed the inside of the Romans towns. When people try to fled, the ashes and rain caught up to them and became dry like wet cement. Over time, their bodies decay and turn them into hard rock, only the hard bone was left inside their bodies. The volcanoes were known for their destruction.  So movie people had made a disaster movie which was film in Hollywood in Los Angeles about volcanoes. A low frequency rate sound system meant to simulate earthquakes shaking.

 

Parts of Volcanoes

           

            Volcanoes are known to have bad breath. Spiky growths of Sulfur crystals can be clearly seen around this fumaroles vent. Close to the vent, there were hot rotten smelling gases which are invisible to make the volcano have bad breath. Another part of a volcano is, Pele’s hair which is made out of hot fluid from lava.  Fluid from within the hot lava was located in Hawaiian fire fountain, which may be blown away into the fire of glassy strands. These are which called Pele’s hair. Wood bone and most foods, and others obtain substances, and carbon is most foods. Normally these foods would burn into the heat. But gas and oxygen had prevented them into turning charcoal.

 

Tectonic Plate

            A 75 year old wooded building in Marina district of San Francisco had been built on a land fill site.  The building split off their foundation when a shaking 1989 earthquake had came. It was no longer there. When the earth breaks, there is a solid rock fracture to relieve the strain built by the movement of the tectonic plate. These roads were cracked during the earthquake measuring which was; 6.9 on the scale. The sulfur particles that are thrown high into the atmosphere may cause further damage to this protective layer. This has affected the world’s temperatures.

 

Environment

            The extinction of the dinosaurs is still a scientific mystery. One theory proposes was a massive volcanic eruption which produces enough gas and dust to cool global temperatures. Two most major eruptions in the 1783 is in Iceland. Another in Mount Asama in Japan was followed by several very cold winters in Europe.
